Max Anarchy Extends Platinum Games' Relationship With Sega

New online combat shooter from Japanese studio Platinum Games planned for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 extends developer's relationship with publisher Sega into 2011 following last year's Bayonetta and Vanquish.
Max Anarchy, a new online combat shooter from Japanese studio Platinum Games planned for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will extend the developer's relationship with publisher Sega into 2011 following last year's release of Bayonetta and Vanquish. The game was unveiled in this week's edition of Famitsu (reported by Andriasang), with producer Atsushi Inaba describing the game's genre as "Massively Multiplayer Melee Fighting Action." The game has been in development for two years, according to the magazine, and will feature Jack, the protagonist from Platinum's violent Wii title MadWorld, as a playable character. Platinum games revealed that is was in talks with Sega about extending the companies' partnership last October. At the time Inaba said: "When we created Platinum Games, we of course talked to a lot of publishers, and Sega offered us the most freedom to develop games. I think the partnership has been great, and I'm really grateful for their support." Inaba said that Max Anarchy is set for a global fall 2011 release. [UPDATE: Platinum Games has also announced that the title will be called Anarchy Reigns when it receives its Western release in the same window of time.]
