Consulting and IT solutions provider SolutionsIQ has announced its new SolutionsIQ Gaming Studio, aimed at offering “technology expertise and production artistry” for video game developers looking to leverage off of the firm's range of development, systems integration and IT services. According to a statement released by SolutionsIQ, the studio “is incorporating the latest in Agile best- practices and test driven development into major game projects to help game customers better meet release schedules, increase profitability and create entertaining products.” Agile software development has become an increasingly popular framework for studios, as it attempts to minimize risk while delivering value early in the project life cycle. Headed by software development director Will Iverson, the new consultancy includes several technology and video game industry veterans, such as Laurent Testud, who worked on Blazing Angels and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare for Ubisoft, and University of Washington instructor Tito Pagan, who contributed to titles such as Dungeon Siege, Mythos, Fate, SWAT 3, and the Aces Over series. Technology veteran Andy Wright, who has worked in the fields of IPTV and digital media distribution, serves as the studio's producer. SolutionsIQ will debut the new service as a sponsor of the previously announced Online Game Development Conference, set for May 10-11, 2007 at Seattle's Fairmont Olympic Hotel, which promises to offer a wealth of technical and creative information for the interactive game development community. "SolutionsIQ has already begun a number of exciting projects in the entertainment sector utilizing our Agile software development expertise and knowledge," said Iverson. He added: "The gaming industry is an ideal market for us to pursue since the principles of Agile software development offer gaming companies the ability to quickly produce new entertainment products that meet the enormous customer demand taking place in the industry."
