Officials from European Publisher Rising Star Games have announced a co-publishing agreement with Japanese publisher and developer Hudson for seven new titles on PSP, Nintendo DS and Wii – to be released between September 2007 and March 2008. Rising Star was formed in 2005 as a joint venture between Japanese publisher Marvelous (publisher of the Harvest Moon series in Japan) and long-standing European Nintendo distributor Bergsala AB. The publisher has specialized in Japanese-developed portable titles, including a number of portable remakes of classic Taito titles such as Space Invaders and Bubble Bobble. None of the Hudson games have yet been named, although the Konami-owned company is best known for its popular Bomberman franchise - as well as more obscure series such as Bloody Roar and Bonk and already-released Wii titles Wing Island and Kororinpa. In addition, the company also continues to develop the long running Mario Party series for Nintendo. “This is a significant partnership for Rising Star Games and a further endorsement that the values and business plan of the company are spot on; we are delighted,” commented Rising Star managing director and COO Martin Defries. “The line up from Hudson is fantastic and we are honored to be part of the reintroduction of Hudson to Europe along with the games it brings.”
