Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. A meager selection of budget-priced Nintendo Wii software will close out 2007 in the United States, while Japan will receive a single Nintendo DS release in the coming week. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending January 5th, 2008. Games Released in the United States: Nintendo Wii: - Classic British Motor Racing - Kawasaki Quad Bikes - Kidz Sports: Basketball - Monster Trux: Offroad - Myth Makers: Orbs of Doom - Rig Racer 2 With the last of 2007's major releases already available on store shelves, this week's U.S. lineup consists only of a handful of budget-priced titles for the Nintendo Wii. This lack of release activity currently affects all regions, though a broader selection of new titles will become available during the first week of the new year. Games Released in Europe: The UK's extended release drought continues into this week, and no new titles are set to debut in the region until mid-January. Games Released in Japan: Nintendo DS: - Rune Factory 2 A sequel to the popular Harvest Moon spinoff Rune Factory will become the first Japanese title released in 2008. No other titles will be released this week, and new offerings will be few and far between until the end of the month.
