Sony UK officials have confirmed that the price of the PS2 console will be dropped from £169 ($281) to £139 ($231) from October 1st. The limited edition silver version of the console will also fall in price to £149 ($247)and several bundles will be created, including Prince of Perisa, EyeToy: Groove and a GTA/Pro Evolution Soccer 3 double pack. Curiously price drops across the rest of Europe have not yet been confirmed, but are widely expected. As previously reported the GameCube is widely expected to drop to £79.99 ($133) within the next few weeks, although Microsoft have been adamant that the Xbox will not lower in price from its current £129.99 ($216) point – although several new bundles are due to be announced for Microsoft’s machine.
