Kiev-based software developer Pilgway studio has announced the availability of the latest version of 3D-Brush, its proprietary texturing tool, which adds a number of new texturing and detailing features. 3D-Brush is designed for artists and designers performing texturing and detailing of art assets. New features include adaptive subdivision, which subdivides every polygon individually independent of its proportions, with the aim of providing a solution to long polygon issues by allowing them to be subdivided into any proportion. A new LWO import/export feature has been integrated, allowing artists to import or export objects with several textures and layers without affecting the nodes structure. While doing the LWO export, 3D-Brush creates the corresponding nodes structure for normal mapping, so as to make the object ready to rendering straight after export. Additional features include an offset tool that allows artists to edit tiled textures and draw bump and specular over it, light source property adjusting and new navigation icons. The quality of shaders can also be decreased in favor of performance on lower-end computers, and a "loading without smoothing" feature allows non-organic models to be edited without distortion. Pilgway says the hints system has also been updated to increase ease of use.
