NVIDIA Launches Pair Of High-End Graphics Cards

NVIDIA today announced the Quadro FX 3000 and FX 3000G graphics cards, both aimed at the high-end DCC, design, and visualization markets. The cards are priced at $2,295 and $2,995, respectively. Both cards have 256MB of DDR RAM, dual DVI-I ports, and a stereo connector. Since one of the DVI ports is dual-channel, the cards both support running the IBM T221/Viewsonic VP2209b monitors (3840x2400) at full resolution while still allowing a second monitor to be connected. The cards also come with a new display driver that enables the easy creation of power walls, by blending overlapping images from two standard proejctors to create one larger image. The 3000G adds connectors for framesync, allowing multiple systems to be synchronized—creating even larger power walls.
