Meteor Games Names Board Member Zac Brandenberg As CEO

Meteor Games, creator of popular Facebook and online games including Island Paradise, has named digital media and advertising veteran Zac Brandenberg as its new CEO.

Meteor Games, best known for its free-to-play social media titles on Facebook and other networks such as Island Paradise and Ranch Town, has named advertising veteran Zac Brandenberg their new CEO as of July 1st. Brandenberg will drive the direction of social gaming product sales in his new position, as well as manage the company's monetization strategy. For the past two years, Brandenberg has served as on the Board of Meteor Games as an advisor and an investor. He previously founded a digital advertising platform called the Hydra Network in 2003 and acted as its CEO. Hydra earned $100 million in revenue in less then five years and won acclaim in 2009 when the Technology Council of Southern California named that company the 2009 Internet/New Media Company of the Year. Meteor Games was founded in 2007 by the creators of the casual free-to-play title Neopets. Meteor's co-founder and former CEO, Adam Powell, has stepped into the role of Chief Creative Officer. Powell commented on Brandenberg's new position, saying, "With a wealth of experience in digital media and a proven track record in leading high growth companies, we knew Zac was the best fit to maximize our presence in the nearly $2 billion social gaming marketplace."
