The Child's Play video game charity has announced that tickets for this year's inaugural Child's Play Fundraiser Dinner Auction are now available. Arranged by popular game-related web comic Penny Arcade as an extension of last year's Child's Play charity effort, the event's proceeds go to help children's hospitals across the United States. After last year's efforts brought in over $250,000 in cash and toys to the Seattle Children's Hospital, this year’s event will benefit the Seattle Children's Hospital, Oakland Children's Hospital, San Diego Children's Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital and the Children's National Medical Center, and is hoping to raise even more money. The Fundraiser Dinner Auction will be held on Thursday December 9th, 2004, from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington. Tickets for the event are $100 USD, with second tickets now available for $50. The event includes a dinner and a silent auction, highlights of which include a tour of Bungie, a lifetime subscription to Steam (including Half-Life 2), a lifetime subscription to Dark Age of Camelot, a tweaked state-of-the-art gaming rig from Shuttle, original art, and an appearance in a Penny-Arcade comic strip. As well as the Fundraiser Dinner, traditional Amazon-routed donations of game consoles, software, and toys are now in progress via the official Child's Play website. The Child's Play event also has a number of game-related corporate contributors this year, including RAD Game Tools, PopCap Games, THQ Australia, PlayStation, Nokia, Gas Powered Games and Midway Games.
