3Q Inc. has announced a partnership with Santa Cruz-based software company Haptek, combining 3Q's Q-Clone Generator technology to capture a true 3-D image of faces, with Haptek's personality animation software, People Putty. At Siggraph 2001 in Los Angeles, 3Q is demonstrating the entire cloning process from creation through animation. Attendees are able to enter 3Q's Q-Clone Generator, capture his/her 3-D clone and then modify the clone's appearance and emotions on a PC workstation with Haptek's Artificial Emotion software. This technology partnership is the introduction of a retail prototype that can be used by people of all ages and technical aptitude.
