Two former 10tacle Slovakia developers announced the formation of The Games Distillery, a Bratislava, Slovakia-based independent studio that will focus on developing downloadable titles. The company intends to develop PC and Xbox 360 games aimed at digital distribution through Xbox Live Marketplace and similarly designed distribution models for other platforms. CEO and development director Reusswig has worked in the games industry for 14 years, serving as development director at 10tacle Studios AG and managing director at 10tacle Studios Slovakia. He was significantly involved in over 20 published productions, including Anno 1602 and Anno 1503. Hazucha, who shares the CEO and creative director titles, has worked in the industry for almost ten years, serving as manager and creative director at 10tacle Studios Slovakia. Reusswig and Hazucha have held joint leadership positions in the past. Currently, Games Distillery is planning two multi-platform titles with development cycles of six and twelve months. The projects are being worked on in a coordinated development scenario with shared resources and technologies to cut down on costs. Said Juergen Reusswig: "Our philosophy is clear-cut: we will produce every single one of our titles, regardless of its size, in excellent quality and with a distinguishing mark within its segment. With our fresh ideas and unlimited creative potential, we will set new impulses to the market. The development and distribution possibilities for downloadable content are far from exhausted - and we are going to change this."
