Beginning Pre-Calculus for Game Developers, authored by John Flynt, Ph.D., and Boris Meltreger, tackles each task using hands-on exercises. The book explains the the basics of the math topics relevent to game programmers and teaches how to specifically apply each skill to the field of game programming. John P. Flynt, Ph.D., works in the software development industry, has taught at colleges and universities, and has authored courses and curricula for several college-level game development programs. His academic background includes work in information technology, the social sciences, and the humanities. Boris Meltreger graduated from a top mathematics and physics high school in Russia. He went on to earn an advanced degree in optical engineering. After completing a dissertation on acoustics and optics, Boris took up work for the Russian government developing optical computers.
