The finalist entries in the recently concluded Dare to be Digital competition held at the University of Abertay Dundee are now available for download from Dare's official website. The lineup includes the competition's three winning titles, Colour Coded by Pixel Pirates, Quick As Thieves by Gentlemen of Fortune and Shrunk by The Butterflyers. The winning teams each received a £2500 cash prize, and all three are now competing for the BAFTA Ones to Watch Award. This year's Dare to be Digital contest was held over 10 weeks at the Dare Development Hothouse at the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland. During the competition, 14 teams of five students each developed their independent game ideas using the university's development equipment. Abertay's Dare to be Digital competition challenges students to take a game idea from prototype to completion, in preparation for a career in game development. Several games created during previous Dare to be Digital competitions have been completed and released commercially, including such titles as Coda Chain and VegeMe for Apple's iPhone.
