Social app and game monetization company Tapjoy announced today that it has partnered with Android-based social network PapayaMobile to create a new social games marketplace for Android devices. The Social Marketplace will utilize Papaya's social network to help users find the best social mobile games, by offering recommendations based on what they play, and what their friends are playing. The marketplace will also display targeted ads, allowing developers to benefit from better user engagement and increased monetization. Developers who are interested in making use of the upcoming marketplace will be able to do so sometime before the end of the year, and will be required to integrate both Papaya's Social SDK and Tapjoy's Publisher SDK into their games. Mihir Shah, president of Tapjoy, explained, "Our entire business is built around delivering as much value to consumers as possible, and clearly there's considerable value in helping them discover new games based on what their friends are playing." "PapayaMobile's social network has the scale and reach, particularly across the U.S. and China, to help make our ads further targeted and more engaging for users." Papaya co-founder Si Shen added, "By teaming with Tapjoy for a Social Marketplace, we’ll be able to offer game developers the very best advertising solution."
