Take-Two is taking the BBC to court over Rockstar biopic

Take-Two Interactive has reportedly filed a trademark infringement lawsuit this week against the BBC over its production of Gamechanger, a 90-minute "factual drama" based on the origin story of Grand Theft Auto developer (and Take-Two subsidiary) Rockstar Games.

This is notable because Take-Two claims the studio hasn't been consulted at all in the show's production (which is acknowledged to be "unofficial") despite numerous requests on its part. 

"While holders of the trademarks referenced in the film title and its promotion, Rockstar Games has had no involvement with this project," a Take-Two representative told Polygon. 

"Our goal is to ensure that our trademarks are not misused in the BBC's pursuit of an unofficial depiction of purported events related to Rockstar Games. We have attempted multiple times to resolve this matter with the BBC without any meaningful resolution."

The made-for-TV drama is one of the many projects launched earlier this year as part of the BBC's "Make It Digital" initiative, which aims to support and promote digital skills development by, say, gifting a million BBC Micro successors to UK youth.
