Plans for this blog
I'll be copying over a link column that I write for a guild at a game/development portal. I'll also post some of my own game design struggles. Now read on as I restate all of this with more words and some links. ;)
I've been doing volunteer work at a game/development portal which involves running a guild for the various strategy games created there. In the process, I have been writing a weekly link collection column to motivate developers and gain new games. Along The Tech Tree recently celebrated its 100th post and will soon celebrate its second anniversary. (Granted, "celebrate" tends to mean that I post a couple more YouTube videos than usual.)
I figure that I'll start posting a version of Tech Tree here. However, it will provide neither technical skills, nor videogame nostalgia, nor thoughts about improving the industry. It will just be a collection of questionable information regarding some small games. Whether or not the games or information are always interesting will be debatable... And some readers may cringe as my writing reveals a desperate need to use a frelling thesaurus.
I may also post some progress reports from my personal blog. Again, I don't know how interested the Gamasutra audience will be. However, some might find value in my struggles to remove positive feedback loops and add subscription features to games that are free to play/host.
