Youtube channel and content juggernaut Machinima has announced a partnership with foremost streaming service Twitch, with goals to produce and distribute ongoing and original content through the platform. Machinima's Twitch channel, now live, will offer "a wide variety of daily live programming" including eSports and event coverage, original animation and live-action originals, the company said in its announcement. The goal is to have at least one "tentpole event" per month, marking a tournament, marathon, or special event such as the Inside Gaming Awards. "This partnership is a huge step forward in extending Machinima's reach to other platforms," said Machinima co-founder and outgoing CEO Allen DeBevoise, in conjunction with the announcement. "Machinima and Twitch both have massive, passionate, and engaged audiences, and I'm excited to collaborate with Twitch to evolve and shape the future of livestreaming." Machinima brings in a reported 203 million viewers per month on Youtube, totaling some 2.4 billion views. Twitch, largely propped up by the growth in interest for eSports in the past year, presently sits at around 45 million unique visitors per month, up from 28 million this past February. Much of Twitch's monetization comes in the form of embedded ads and premium ad-free subscriptions.
