Brandon Barber, a former Zynga executive and co-founder of sports game developer Lionside, has decided to move elsewhere in the social space, joining Backyard Monsters developer Kixeye as its senior VP of marketing. In this new role, Barber will report directly to Kixeye CEO Will Harbin, and will be able to leverage his experience working with social and online games to help Kixeye grow as a hardcore-focused social game studio. Prior to joining Kixeye, Barber served as co-founder and VP of marketing and production at Lionside, an Ngmoco-owned studio best known for social games such as NBA Legend and Lionside football. Before founding Lionside, Barber served as Zynga's VP of Marketing, as well as Electronic Arts' senior director of global online marketing. "In order to continue crushing our competition, we need to bring in the best talent on the planet," said Kixeye's Harbin in a statement. "Brandon fits that description. His track record of innovation, execution and entrepreneurialism will help us up our game as we develop the next generation of mind-blowing online combat games."
