PlayStation's former vice president of third-party relations, Adam Boyes, is now CEO of Chicago-based game developer and publisher Iron Galaxy, the company announced Tuesday [PDF].

The hire is significant in the realm of game industry executives. Boyes was a leading public figure in developer relations at PlayStation, helping shape partnerships that defined PlayStation 4's developer-friendly stance.

Iron Galaxy is perhaps best known for its work on Killer Instinct, and has worked with other companies to produce games including 7 Days To Die, Batman: Arkham Knight, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Destiny

When it isn't working for hire, Iron Galaxy has worked to publish and develop games such as Videoball, Capsule Force, and DiveKick

Boyes reiterated his desire to create things, and explained that Iron Galaxy's expansive work slate helped seal the deal

"I’ve always had a passion for game development and I’m extremely excited to be getting closer to it with my move to Iron Galaxy," said Boyes in a statement. "I'm honored to be working with such a talented team and look forward to creating opportunities and crafting deals that deliver their products to a wider audience."
