Lords of the Fallen crosses 1 million sales in 10 days
Publisher CI Games has described the title as its "most important" project to date.
Lords of the Fallen has crossed 1 million sales in 10 days, according to publisher CI Games. The title launched on October 13, 2023, for PC and console platforms including Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5.
The dark fantasy action-RPG was developed by CI Games' internal studio Hexworks and features a unique dual-realm mechanic that lets players flit between the world of the living and the horrifying world of the dead.
CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski said the title is the "most important and ambitious" project the company has developed in its history, and is the first in a series of triple-A games it intends to release in the coming years.
Hexworks head of studio Saul Gascon thanked players for their backing and pledged to continue supporting the title with new features including cross-play between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S consoles, which will be rolled out as part of an expansive patch later this week.
Lords of the Fallen thank-yous
"Thank you to all the Lampbearers out there who have embarked on their journeys across Mournstead, fearlessly traversing the lands of the living and the dead," said Gascon in a press release.
"We're incredibly grateful to the passionate Lords of the Fallen community for their invaluable feedback and ongoing support. It's their unwavering dedication that has made this success possible, and we couldn't be prouder to share it with them."
While off to a solid start, Lords of the Fallen has received some criticism due to issues related to (among other things) performance and progression. In an update shared on reddit over the weekend, Hexworks said it's working "diligently" to fix those problems and refine existing systems such as New Game+ and enemy density.
