Serious Sam dev Croteam releases classic engine source code

If you want to see what made the first two games in the Serious Sam franchise, released in 2001 and 2002 tick, here's your chance.

Newsbrief: Today Croteam released the source code for v1.10 of its Serious Engine, which powered the original two Serious Sam games, released in 2001 and 2002 to much critical acclaim.

“Historically, this version of Serious Engine is very important for Croteam and for me personally. I created several mods for Serious Sam back in the day, before even starting the work on the source code, and it was a great tool for learning," said Croteam's Vyacheslav Nikitenko in a statement accompanying the release.

If you're interested in giving the tech a whirl, you can download it from Croteam's GitHub repository.
