Composer and Producer chuck e. myers “sea” owns and operates big idea music productions inc. which he founded in 1984.  He started off in the Film and Television world composing scores and main themes for WCBS News in New York City, KDFW / KXAS News in Dallas Texas, Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC After School Specials, ABC’s National Network Theme, NBC Summer Olympics, NBC Entertainment Tonight and TBS National Geographic Explorer.  He wrote music for and worked on many feature films and film trailers including Darkman III, Army of Darkness-Evil Dead Part III, and Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde.  He composed the soundtrack to the feature film Down and Derby starring Lauren Holly and Greg Gurman.

Then in 1994, his career took a turn into the video game world when he was approached by Sony to create the soundtracks for many of the launch titles for the Sony Playstation including, Twisted Metal, War Hawk, Jet Moto, NFL Game Day, NHL Faceoff, and MLS Soccer.  As a result of the success of his video game soundtracks he has become one of the most prolific composers in the video game industry with 3 decades of award-winning scores and games.  Myers is currently the principal composer and producer for a long list of many of today’s most popular video games.

In the past decade he was selected by Disney, Pixar, and Avalanche to be the composer for their video game soundtracks of Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Cars 3, Finding Dory and Disney’s Infinity 1-3 featuring Star Wars VII “The Force Awakens,” Marvel Avengers, and Spiderman.  Then in 2018, he was selected to be the lead composer of Warner Brothers Games Hogwarts Legacy which represents the absolute pinnacle of his career. Although Hogwarts Legacy is part of a well-established musical brand, Myers applied his award-winning talents to bring to life the unwritten adventure while ensuring continuity with the overall Wizarding World sonic brand. “I was honored to be entrusted with a score that ultimately needed to continue the legacy for fans across the globe — I immediately realized the enormity of the task and did not take the opportunity lightly.” added Myers. Over the course of creating the soundtrack for Hogwarts Legacy, he has composed nearly 70 hours of music.  Not all of that will be in the game, but it is a testament to the passion and dedication involved in the creation of the soundtrack and the incredible support he has had from Avalanche to experiment and find the right tones and themes for the score.

His full service recording studio has produced a wide range of talent from Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins and The Piano Guys to commercial clients like Pepsi and Overstock.com.  In the past and in conjunction with Freedomzone and PEPSI / The Mountain Dew Burning Van / AMP Energy Drink, chuck was producer on recordings for many top bands (developing to Multi-Platinum) including Simple Plan (Lava/Atlantic), Trapt (Warner Brothers), Something Corporate (Geffen), Sparta (Dreamworks/Geffen), Coheed and Cambria (Columbia/Sony and Equal Vision), De La Soul (Spit Kicker), Blackalicious (Quannum), Talib Kweli (Geffen), Pharoah Monch (MCA), Dilated Peoples (Capitol) , Aceyalone (Project Blowed/Decon), Hawthorne Heights (Victory), The Starting Line (Geffen), Fall Out Boy (Island/Fueled by Ramen), Gratitude (Atlantic), Jack’s Mannequin (Maverick), Full Blast (Black Box Recordings), and many others. His work was featured on MTV2 and FUSE TV.

He has performed around the country with many groups and with several symphonies, including the National Symphony in Washington D.C., the San Francisco Symphony, and the Utah Symphony. He was the keyboard player for the Dixie Chicks at the 2002 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies.

Myers has spent the last 30 years developing non-linear music composition techniques to support interactive multimedia applications which are leading the way in contemporary film style orchestral scoring for video games.  As a musician “sea" plays a wide variety of obscure instruments including Waterphone, Shakuhachi, Ban Di, Quena, Harmonica, Ocarina, and many other percussion instruments. Myers has led Big Idea with a deep understanding of the technological side of music production combined with his love for composition.  His command of music, art, and science, his talents as a pianist, guitarist, and drummer and his vivid imagination have allowed him to become a true innovator. He studied Electrical Engineering and Music at the University of Utah from 1982-1988.  Additionally, he is a veteran ski Instructor from Snowbird Ski and Summer Resorts and is currently coaching at Deer Valley Resorts. He was also a Technical Scuba Instructor Trainer for TDI/SDI and PADI, retired, due to a bike racing injury that punctured his lung.  Myers has sustained his company’s success by infusing his adventurous lifestyle with his unparalleled musicianship and creativity.  Myers combines real life adventure with music to produce the perfect video game soundtracks. From scuba diving to mountain unicycling, snow skiing, and BMX bike racing, he has lived a video game life. “I love adventure and the opportunity to compose and produce music for video games gives me the chance to capture that adrenaline rush without the risk,” say’s sea.

ABOUT J SCOTT RAKOZY
J Scott Rakozy is an American born composer and sound designer for film, television, and games. Rakozy was born in 1988 in Harrisburg, PA. He began piano at the young age of 3, progressing to piano lessons under the Suzuki method at age 5 and quitting to pursue his own love for piano and composition at age 12. When the N64 came into his life in 1997 seeing Goldeneye for the first time, it instantly changed his views and immediately fell in love with video game music, determined to make it a career one day. The passion grew and he found his way to studying music at Brigham Young University where he would meet and mentor under Sam Cardon. During college Rakozy would freelance, honing in his skills and expertise, emulating his style to those of Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell, John Williams and others, incorporating orchestral and electronica elements as well as challenging himself in other genres and styles. After graduating, he was hired at Huge Studios to work alongside Michael McDonough, Mike Greene, and Chance Thomas where he had the opportunity to be a part of projects for Universal, Netflix, Paramount, Disney, and others. ABOUT PETER MURRAY
Peter started working on Hogwarts Legacy in 2018, focusing mainly on dialogue tech and asset management. Over the four-and-a-half years he has spent on the project, his role has shifted to managing the placement and integration of the hours and hours of magnificent music in the game. It is a dream job, and he routinely pinches himself to make sure he's actually awake. One of the things Peter has enjoyed most while working on Hogwarts Legacy is taking a musical idea from piano sketch to final implementation in-engine, being able to personally create both the music and the tech and adding a hand-crafted flair to mission sequences and impactful moments.

Peter has enjoyed and excelled in music all his life. He started piano lessons at five years old, then picked up saxophone at twelve and flute at sixteen. He engaged in various school and extra-curricular programs and ensembles, and at the collegiate level, Peter attained recognition as a concerto competition winner (piano), and toured with performing groups nationally and internationally (saxophone and other woodwinds). Peter obtained a BA in Commercial Music from Brigham Young University, where he received a more in-depth introduction to music technology and audio engineering and producing. During his last semester of college he started scoring his first feature-length film. Peter's musical writing style has been described as dramatic, emotional, and powerful, augmenting moment-to-moment gameplay and elevating player experiences to fresh heights.
