Darwinia and Defcon developer Introversion has confirmed that the studio has begun pre-production on Chronometer, a new yet-undetailed title produced in conjunction with film production company 1066 Productions and UK television network Channel 4. Introversion producer Chris Delay confirmed the news of the sixth title via the studio's weblog, though he warned that "ultimately we don’t know for certain if Chronometer will be going into full production – the conditions would have to be right for Introversion and for Channel 4." Delay said the initial idea for the game came during the beta phase for the studio's last commercially released title, Defcon, and while not confirming details, said Introversion co-founder Mark Morris "sat there silent for a few minutes... slowly shaking his head in disbelief" after hearing the pitch. Introversion is due to soon release Multiwinia, an online multiplayer version of its IGF winning action-strategy title Darwinia, both of which will also be coming to Xbox Live Arcade as a dual release in fall 2008. The developer is also currently working on Subversion, another yet-undetailed project known only to make extensive use of procedurally generated content, which so far has no tentative release date.
