Sales of Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fell 11 percent week-on-week, but it was still enough to keep the shooter at the top of the UK charts for a fifth consecutive week, Chart-Track said Monday. On Chart-Track's all-platforms chart, which ranks games by lumping together all versions of a given title, Modern Warfare 2 has been outselling a competitive lineup of holiday titles, including Nintendo's Wii Sports Resort and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, as well as Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed II and Electronic Arts' FIFA 10. Chart-Track said that Modern Warfare 2, launched November 10, generated unit sales of 1.23 million in the UK on day one. Activision later said the game generated $550 million in its first five days of availability. The fact that the game's sales can continually drop week-to-week and maintain the sales lead helps illustrate just how big the game's debut sales were. The top 10 for this most recent week was largely just a shuffle from the prior week. The only title to fall out of the top 10 was Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues from LucasArts. Taking its place was Just Dance, a title from Ubisoft that jumped from 30 to eight. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for Nintendo DS released in the UK during the week, but didn't manage to break the top 10, coming in at number 12. UK All-Platforms Top 10 1.
