Top-Grossing iOS Games: Rage of Bahamut dominates iPhone charts

Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see Rage of Bahamut and CSR Racing earning top iPhone sales, while DragonVale and Kingdoms of Camelot remain big sellers on the iPad.

Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Rage of Bahamut and CSR Racing earning top iPhone sales, while DragonVale and Kingdoms of Camelot remain big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Rage of Bahamut (Mobage, Free) 2. CSR Racing (NaturalMotion, Free) 3. Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North (Kabam, Free) 4. DragonVale (Backflip Studios, Free) 5. Slotomania (Playtika, Free) 6. Poker by Zynga (Zynga, Free) 7. Minecraft: Pocket Edition (Mojang, $6.99) 8. Tap Paradise Cove (Pocket Gems, Free) 9. Card Ace Casino (Self Aware Games, Free) 10. Fieldrunners 2 (Subatomic Studios, $2.99) Mobage's online trading card game Rage of Bahamut tops the iPhone's revenue charts this week, pushing former sales leaders CSR Racing and Kingdoms of Camelot to second and third place. DragonVale continues to report strong sales at fourth place, while Subatomic Studios' tower defense sequel Fieldrunners 2 ranks in at tenth place in its debut week. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. DragonVale (Backflip Studios, Free) 2. CSR Racing (NaturalMotion, Free) 3. Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North (Kabam, Free) 4. The Dark Knight Rises (Gameloft, $6.99) 5. Slotomania HD (Playtika, Free) 6. Bingo Bash HD (BitRhymes, Free) 7. Card Ace Casino HD (Self Aware Games, Free) 8. Modern War (Funzio, Free) 9. Tap Paradise Cove (Pocket Gems, Free) 10. Poker by Zynga (Zynga, Free) DragonVale overtakes CSR Racing to become this week's highest-grossing iPad app, as Gameloft's superhero film adaptation The Dark Knight Rises claims fourth place in its first week of release. Slotomania HD and Bingo Bash HD remain popular favorites at fifth and sixth place, while Tap Paradise Cove leads over Poker by Zynga at ninth.
