Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week brings New Super Mario Bros. 2 to North America alongside digital highlights like Retro/Grade, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending August 25th, 2012. Games Released in the United States: Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. 2 headlines this week's North American retail release lineup, and is also set to premiere simultaneously as a digital download title in the 3DS eShop. New Super Mario Bros. 2's gameplay focuses on the collection of coins, and challenges players to collect a total of one million coins throughout the game's levels. This week will also see the release of a large number of downloadable titles across multiple platforms, including Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment's multiplayer first-person shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and an upgraded HD version of Capcom's 1999 arcade fighter JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The PlayStation 3 additionally boasts a number of platform-exclusive digital releases such as System Prisma's action-RPG Legasista, 24 Carat Games' rhythm-based shooter Retro/Grade, and Acquire's open-world action-adventure game Way of the Samurai 4.
