Sony Computer Entertainment America has named Guy Longworth, a marketing executive with experience in the food industry, as the replacement for former PlayStation marketing SVP Peter Dille, who departed in March. Longworth's resume includes over 20 years of experience at companies including Procter & Gamble, Kraft Foods, Marlow Foods and Kellogg's, as well as marketing consulting firm Annapurna One, which he co-founded. In the new position, which starts October 31, Longworth will be responsible for marketing, promotions and brand development at SCEA. "Guy's extensive background and experience with consumer marketing in multiple categories make him uniquely qualified to help deliver our messages to consumers and effectively impact our brand," said SCEA CEO Jack Tretton, who will serve as Longworth's direct supervisor. "He brings with him an experienced understanding of the marketing industry and has a strong record of consumer-driven success," he continued. "Guy will be an integral part of our marketing efforts across the PlayStation brand moving forward." Former Sony marketing VP Peter Dille recently signed on as chief marketing officer for mobile game monetization company Tapjoy. "It's very different in many ways [from the console gaming business], but there's also common DNA," Dille said in a recent interview with Gamasutra. "There's still an awful lot of gaming that runs through this company's business. But I also think that some of the trends that really just started to take hold in the gaming world have actually been the lifeblood of mobile and Tapjoy."
