Today's Gamasutra news round-up includes news on the Chinese release of space combat MMO EVE Online, Snowblind Studios' new DC Comics-based Justice League Heroes title, and Blizzard's partnership with the World Series of Video Games, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts and Gamasutra job postings. - CCP Games and Optic Communications have teamed to launch the MMORPG EVE Online in China. The game is projected for release in the territory by Q3 2006, following successful launches in the US and Europe. "Optic has distinguished itself as a first-class provider of MMOG services in a very competitive operating environment," said CCP Games chief marketing officer Magnus Bergsson. "Their approach manages the huge demand generated by regional consumer pressures gracefully and without compromising customer service quality, and we're very excited about the new heights that we can both reach through this venture." - Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has announced that Snowblind Studios, developers of Champions of Norrath and Untold Legends, are developing a game based on DC Comics' Justice League Heroes. The game will be similar to Snowblind's earlier top-down dungeon crawling titles, as well as Raven Software's X-Men Legends series. "In Justice League Heroes, gamers get to play Batman and Superman together along with an amazing team of super heroes wielding unprecedented powers for stand alone action on consoles and the PSP system," said WBIE senior VP Jason Hall. "The game utilizes Snowblind's innovative gameplay technologies and the respected story writing of Dwayne McDuffie to bring fans and gamers some of the best super hero battles in the universe." - Games Media Properties, purveyors of the World Series of Video Games, have partnered with Blizzard to provide a custom gaming area for World Series players at select events during the 2006 season. Registration for the first three events in the series has been opened; players can now register for competitions in Louisville, Kentucky, Jonkoping, Sweden, and Grapevine, Texas through the official website.
