OC3 Entertainment, a provider of facial animation technology in the videogame industry, and Fonix Speech Inc., a provider of speech technology solutions and interfaces for video games, will showcase FaceFX Live featuring Fonix VoiceIn speech recognition at the 2006 Game Developers Conference, from March 20-24 in San Jose, California. OC3 Entertainment's new FaceFX Live product uses Fonix's VoiceIn voice recognition technology to generate facial animation data in real-time using audio input from a microphone. The product enables games and other online 3-D applications to simulate social interaction with talking characters. FaceFX Live is positioned to allow video game developers to add greater interactivity to a variety of games ranging from online board games to MMORPGs. "Great facial animation starts with great voice recognition technology, and that is exactly what Fonix VoiceIn brings to the table," said OC3 Entertainment CEO Doug Perkowski. "Our partnership with Fonix has helped us build strong customer relationships and broaden our presence in the rapidly expanding video game market."
