Shiva3D engine maker Stonetrip has partnered with Chinese middleware distributor Axis3D to bring Shiva3D to China and Taiwan.
Through the deal, Axis3D also takes responsibility for customer service in the region, offering training and support to licensees. According to Stonetrip, Axis3D "has long experience in technology sales and support in the region."
"There is a wealth of games programming talent in China and Taiwan, and working with Stonetrip and ShiVa3D makes us ideally placed to reach games designers and developers looking for the best way to bring their creations to market quickly and efficiently on all platforms," says Axis3D CEO Alex Wu.
Shiva3D is aimed at creating a platform for developers on Windows, Mac, Linux, Facebook, iOS, Android and Wii. The company says it currently supports more than 36,000 licensed developers.
Stonetrip has rapidly moved into the mobile space in particular starting at the beginning of 2010, adding iPad and Android support in March.
