November 15, 2021 -- VRsenal, the manufacturer of the world’s top-selling full-body, unattended VR arcade platform, has teamed up with VR publisher Vertigo Games and developer I-Illusions to release Space Pirate Trainer as a two-station, unattended VR game for family entertainment center operators.

In Space Pirate Trainer, players don a fully automated VR headset and proceed to blast and dodge their way through a frenetic onslaught of sci-fi drones. The thrilling gameplay and incredible mechanics of Space Pirate Trainer have garnered praise from every corner of the industry.

PC Gamer’s review hailed, “Space Pirate Trainer nails the purity of an arcade FPS in VR,” and gaming website Polygon said it “makes you feel like Han Solo inside of Galaga.”

“Everybody remembers Galaga, but Space Pirate Trainer lets you climb inside a game like that and take personal control of the avatar,” said John Coleman, Vertigo Games’ CFO and Business Development Lead. “With approachable gameplay that also offers veteran players a wide range of options, Space Pirate Trainer is ideally suited for the arcade space.”

Space Pirate Trainer will be a launch title for VRsenal’s new V2 multiplayer VR arcade platform. In a comparable footprint and price point to their single-player, single-game platform, VRsenal has doubled the throughput and revenue potential by accommodating 2 player positions.

Where VRsenal’s single-player, single-game platform averaged a 7-month ROI, most operators can expect to recoup their V2 investment in just 4-6 months.

And should operators decide they want to offer their customers more variety, the V2 allows Space Pirate Trainer to be paired with other games. This allows the V2 to operate as a multi-game cabinet that offers players more variety and longer engagement.

“Operators now have an option to create a high-throughput, affordable attraction with full-body AAA VR content, and never have to worry about staffing the game. This is a very hard thing to pull off in VR,” said Ben Davenport, VRsenal CEO.

VRsenal will be showcasing their new V2 hardware platform featuring Rhythmatic at the IAAPA Orlando Expo November 16-19th at the VRsenal booth #1606 in the Games and Arcade Pavilion.
