Today, Knights of San Francisco was added to Google's Play Pass selection. This means that Play Pass subscribers can now play the game for free.

The game is part of three different "Best Games of 2021" selections — by Android Authority, by TouchArcade, and by Google Play. On Google Play, it made it to the "Game Changers" category thanks to its unique combination of gameplay and style. It was perhaps the only solo-developer indie game that made it to these lists.

Knights of San Francisco is a text-only simulation game about exploring goblin-infested San Francisco as a necromancer.

It has become a favorite in a niche community of players. A few select player reviews:

  • "An absolute gem if you like this genre. Obviously a labor of love, and imo worth the premium fee." — Sarah Felmus

  • "Fantastically written/programmed! I wanted to try D&D without all the monotonous stats, and this game takes care of all that behind the scene." — Cory May

  • "Absolutely amazing. Played from start to finish - enjoyable throughout, and with plenty to keep you thinking!" — Alex Brewer

  • "Gorgeous bit of World building and wonderfully innovative gameplay." — Archemedian X

  • "Good casual RPG similar to playing D&D with a good dungeon master." — DeadlyInsite

Players who don't subscribe to Play Pass can of course still buy the game for its usual price of $2.99. The game is also available on iOS.
