GameRefinery, a Liftoff Company, has released its latest analysis of the US, China, and Japan's key mobile games markets for June 2022. GameRefinery's analysts have hand-picked their top updates from June's data for each country, including new releases, special events, and game updates.

Here's what they found:

  • The global launch of Disney Mirrorverse saw it succeed in the Japanese and US markets. It was also selected as one of the finalists in GameRefinery's 2021 Mobile GameDev Awards' most promising soft launch games category.

  • Diablo Immortal also immediately entered the top 10 grossing games in the US.

  • Both Project Makeover and Redecor implemented Pride-themed Battle Passes.

  • It was also a remarkably strong month for RPGs. RPGs were among the top 200 grossing entrants in all the major markets.

  • In China, Battle of the Golden Spatula (金铲铲之战) implemented a new PvP season that saw a new lineup ofPotter: Magic Awakened (哈利波特:魔法觉醒) saw a further decline despite its successful launch.

  • Despite a lack of collaborative events in the Chinese market, Onmyoji Arena (决战!平安京) partnered with US beer brand Bud Light, and the game was among the top 200 grossing.

  • Project Sekai Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku (プロジェクトセカイ カラフルステージ! feat. 初音ミク) hosted its much anticipated first Connect Live concert that players could attend in-game. 4X games continue to perform well in Japan, as newly released 新信長の野望 instantly entered the top 20 grossing entrants.
