SANTA CRUZ - NOVEMBER 19, 2021 - Composer Stemage in conjunction with Riot Forge is thrilled to make available the soundtrack to Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story. Available on PC, Switch, and soon, Netflix Games, Hextech Mayhem is a fast-paced rhythm runner where every action has an explosive reaction and no amount of mayhem is too much. Players take on the role of hexplosives expert Ziggs as they rampage through the neighborhoods of Piltover. Stemage--best known for his work on Steven Universe, Bubsy: Paws on Fire, and founding/playing guitar in Metroid Metal and other bands--serves up an appropriately eclectic soundtrack touching on everything from high-energy cartoon metal to zany electronic tunes across 30 tracks.   "This was a fun and challenging project," comments Stemage. "Not only did we create the sound for our versions of Ziggs, but we went to great lengths to marry the gameplay and music together. Every ‘hit’ in the music and ‘prompt’ in the game are linked together. If you learn the song and watch for additional environmental cues, not only will you wipe the level clean and achieve the coveted Challenger rank, but you are also in lock step with the music. The songs are eccentric, experimental, and surprisingly heavy at times! Since we keep the gameplay speed steady throughout the game, we play a lot with time changes and new mechanics to create challenges for the player. It was a blast to work on."   About Grant "Stemage" Henry   Stemage is a composer, session player, and pinball fanatic. As the founder of Metroid Metal and other videogame music bands, he is also the guitar player and co-composer for the Emmy-nominated Steven Universe. He's worked with Choice Provisions, Google, Devolver Digital, Zach Gage, Lena Raine, and Brave Wave Productions. Recent guitar credits include Moonglow Bay, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and Ikenfell. Stemage has been making music and bandhopping for over 25 years and currently resides in Santa Cruz, California.
