Hidden Fields, MWM Interactive and Super Rare Games have announced that a physical edition of the critically acclaimed and award-winning folklore-inspired horror indie game Mundaun will be available for Nintendo Switch from 25 November. Developed and created by Swiss illustrator and programmer Michel Ziegler, Mundaun tells the story of a young man who travels to a secluded valley of the Swiss Alps to uncover the mystery of his grandfather’s death. Mundaun is the first full-length game from Ziegler and was praised by players and critics alike for its artistry and unnerving approach to horror, earning the Best Entertainment Game award at the Swiss Game Awards as well as the Visual Design award at IndieCade.

The limited physical release includes the full game, a full-colour manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker and trading cards.

In Mundaun, players follow a young man named Curdin to Mundaun, an ominous valley in the Alps, to learn more about the mysterious circumstances behind his grandfather’s death. Along the way, he discovers that something diabolical is haunting the town’s residents and slowly unravels the secrets of Mundaun. Throughout their journey, players will solve intricate puzzles and learn more about the town, while avoiding sinister characters that trigger the game’s fear system, a “cause-and-effect” feature which disorients players when facing dangerous situations. The game has been a passion project for Ziegler since beginning development in 2014 and was inspired by Ziegler’s adoration of the rich history of myth and culture of the Swiss region of Grisons.

Mundaun’s Nintendo Switch Physical Edition will be available from 25 November for $36.11 / €32.12 / £32.40 from the Super Rare official website. To learn more about the game, follow @MundaunGame on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and visit the game’s official website https://www.mundaungame.com.

Mundaun is also available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
