New Website Gives Birth to “Casual eSports” Where Anyone Can Play and Win 


NEW YORK, NY (April 26, 2022) – High Score Wins Money Launches a showcase for indie game developers with its new website going live April 25, 2022. The platform houses original experimental arcade style creations by indie game developers. Visitors to the site who achieve the coveted high score in the featured game will win $100 cash; albeit delivered electronically. Partial proceeds donated to Direct Relief. 

 

The first creator to be featured on the gaming site is Will Brierly, creator of the surprise cult hit soda drinking simulation Soda Drinker Pro, the Humble Bundle original Retired Nude Men’s Volleyball League, and his recent collaboration [[volleyball game mention]]. 

“For this latest game, I wanted to make something super simple that anyone can pick up and play but have some depth as well. In lots of games, you have to do things to get points. Pac Man eats dots, Mario collects coins and in Killer Instinct Spinal can do a 128 Ultra combo. In this game, all you have to do is point at the points and you get them.” - Will Brierly 


The website is the brainchild of New Yorker Cartoonist, Comedian, and WikiListen host Victor Varnado. 
“I’m a huge fan of indie gaming and have even created some of my own digital monstrosities. Part of the inspiration came from my recent fascination with Wordle. My friends and I have a daily competition to see who did the best. I wanted to create a project that fosters a friendly video game contest and showcases established and emerging talent in the indie gaming world. Also, I love to play games and am excited for each new creation.” - Victor Varnado 


Will Brierly’s creation for High Score Wins Money will be available for a test run in person three days before the launch and the Dynamo Kingdom after party at the Chelsea Music Hall in New York. 


Will Brierly has run Snowrunner Productions for the past 20 years. He has worked with Grammy Award-winning artists, Emmy Award-winning TV shows, NY Times best selling authors, international government agencies, video games and more. He has created content for Adult Swim, Bose and more and is also known for creating the first FPS (first-person Soda drinking simulation) Soda Drinker Pro which has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Mashable, Game Informer, Kotaku, Wall Street Journal and hundreds of other media outlets and is enjoyed by millions of soda simulation enthusiasts worldwide. 


As a comedian, Victor Varnado has appeared on Late Night With Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His writing and cartooning work have been showcased in MAD magazine, VICE, Marvel Comics, and Salon.
