Documentary on the History of Midway Games’ Meteoric Rise in the 90’s is the Second in an On-going Series of Monthly Events for Indie Film Fans

SAN FRANCISCO and LOS ANGELES – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2021 – The second in a series of Film Threat in Second Life virtual events for indie film fans will take place this Thursday, November 18. The event will feature a screening of portions of the 2020 film Insert Coin, the Midway Games documentary, as well as a filmmaker discussion with Film Threat founder Chris Gore and the film’s director - and former Midway Games art director- Josh Tsui.


Also joining the discussion will be Warren Davis, designer and programmer of the 1982 arcade game Q*Bert, and developer of the video digitization system used in Midway’s most successful arcade games including NARC, Mortal Kombat, and NBA Jam. Actor Tim Kitzrow, the infamous voice of NBA Jam, will also be on-hand.
“We’re having such a wonderful time putting together these events and love connecting with filmmakers and our community in this way,” said Chris Gore, founder of Film Threat. “This month’s event for Insert Coin should be lots of fun, as we have some great guests. We hope arcade fans, indie film fans, and other members of the game industry community will join us to check out this special documentary and discussion.”
Film Threat Inside Second Life is a custom-built virtual event venue with spaces for screenings, gatherings, and more. The Film Threat events feature panels with leading filmmakers, actors, and Film Threat critics, as well as Film Threat-branding and film-specific exclusive, collectible virtual merchandise.


Film Threat in Second Life is open to the public.to check out the space. The screening event will premiere on Thursday, November 17 from 11 am to 2 pm Pacific Time and will remain available for viewing until the week preceding the December event for the film, I Am Santa Claus.
