De duistere kant van spiritualiteit doorbreekt de grenzen van het alledaagse in de nieuwe psychedelische horror-game The Chant. Deze third-person horror action-adventure game - die is ontwikkeld door Brass Token en uitgegeven door Prime Matter - verschijnt later dit jaar om spelers een zenuwslopende ervaring te bieden.
 
The Chant verplaatst je naar een afgelegen eiland, waar een chant-ritueel op verschrikkelijke wijze verkeerd is afgelopen. Hierdoor is een portaal geopend naar de nachtmerrie-dimensie genaamd The Gloom, en word je plots belaagd door raadselachtige verschrikkingen.
 
De Gloom-dimensie voedt zich met negatieve energie en begint jou en de anderen tot waanzin te drijven. Gevormd door je eigen angsten verschijnen interdimensionale wezens die je meenemen op een psychedelische horrortrip zoals je die nooit eerder hebt meegemaakt.
 
Maar er is nog hoop. Door het ontrafelen van de mysteries van een new age-sekte uit de jaren 70 en tegelijkertijd je geest, lichaam en geest te versterken, kun je de effecten van de chant omkeren en voorkomen dat je voor altijd in de duisternis komt vast te zitten.
