Com2uS opened pre-registration for its mobile survival game Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice (FPBI) ahead of its official global release. The pre-registration will be available on Google Play and App Store of more than 170 regions globally. FPBI can be played in 7 different languages — English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, and French. It aims to enter the global market, reflecting user feedback from the US, UK, and Philippines, where FPBI has been available with early access since January.
FBPI‘s universe, key content, artwork, and other details will be disclosed on the official brand website during the pre-registration period. Other FPBI-related information, such as newsletters and developer’s notes, is also available on the website in real time.
FPBI is a mobile version of Frostpunk, a highly-acclaimed survival game with over 3 million copies sold worldwide. FPBI is developed by the original game’s developer 11 bit studios and NetEase, which has a history of developing and publishing IP-based games such as Diablo Immortal and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.
Com2uS’ new mobile game is set in a late modern background where the user is to build a city powered by a giant steam engine, gather survivors, and survive the ice age that engulfed civilization unexpectedly. They are constantly tasked with making difficult decisions between survival and morality as the city prospers. On top of Frostpunk‘s original elements, FPBI also offers mobile adaptations such as Law and Expedition to add entertainment.
FPBI garnered positive feedback from users in the US, UK, and the Philippines, where the game was available with early access. Grandeur music and fine graphics that successfully recreated the original console game’s frozen, dystopian universe and the opening cinematic that captured the harsh reality of the series were praised as its charms.
Some other positive feedback was on FPBI‘s exclusive mobile content. The Weather Station, Trade Base, and Radio Tower that offered minigames and socializing features were well-received for implementing mobile adaptations, along with city management elements and seasonal content such as Featured Industries.
More information on the pre-registration and the game can be found on the official brand page.
