Xbox Will Arrive In Latin America Next March

Microsoft unveiled its Xbox launch plans for Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, stating that the console will be available in these countries by March 2002, missing the important Christmas season.
Microsoft executive Mauricio Santillan said that manufacturing constraints dictated the lag in launching the Xbox in North America versus Latin American. While Santillan said he expects Xbox sales in Latin America to be lower than sales in the U.S, he also explained that the Microsoft views its Xbox sales as an opportunity to increase the company's penetration in Latin American homes, calling the device a "Trojan Horse" for the company.
