Microsoft officials have confirmed that the Xbox Live Video Chat system will launch first in Japan and the Far East. The system comprises a re-branded Logitech webcam and software with a range of video conferencing functions, where up to five users can chat together at one time. The launch in Japan is puzzling, considering the extremely small userbase in that country, but is allegedly due to the high broadband penetration. A release date for the system has not yet been announced for either the US or Europe. Source: gamesindustry.biz
