Microsoft has announced that its latest regular Wednesday update will see the addition of SNK Playmore's arcade classic Metal Slug 3 to the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade, featuring updated HD graphic options and co-op multiplayer over Xbox Live. Microsoft notes that Metal Slug 3 "provides gamers with various route selections within each stage enabling players to play over and over," as Marco, Tarma, Eri and Fio "hit the battlefield to stop General Morden from disturbing the order and peace that has begun to return to the world." The fourth game in the popular Metal Slug franchise (following Metal Slug 1, 2, X), the Xbox Live Arcade version will feature all of the arcade original graphics, with the usual filtered options for HDTVs, leaderboards, and Achievements. Originally held back from the Live Arcade because of size restrictions, more lax policies from Microsoft mean Metal Slug 3 will see its release on Wednesday, January 2, at a price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
