Ahead of Microsoft's official announcement, developer Hudson has said that its original sidescrolling 3D shooter Omega Five
will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade as part of the next regularly scheduled Wednesday update.
In production by developer Natsume, Hudson says the game will deliver "hardcore action never seen before on the platform," along with "visually stunning graphics that pushes the limits for a digital download game."
The publisher also says players will be able to "choose from multiple humanoid characters, each with their own unique special attacks and upgradeable weapons, which they can shoot in 360 degrees," with both single and local co-op play.
will be added to the service January 9, 2008 at a price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10). Microsoft has yet to announce if other content will join Hudson's title for its update.
