World Wrestling Entertainment Dispute Could Boil Over For THQ

The Swiss-based World Wide Fund for Nature has demanded that World Wrestling Entertainment pay $90 million to settle damage claims involved in in a lawsuit against the WWE -- and THQ could find itself in the middle.
The WWE, which used to be called the World Wrestling Federation and used an acronym which conflicted with that of the World Wide Fund, was told that the Fund was considering action against WWE's licensees that plan to sell WWE-based videogames and other licensed products during the Christmas season. THQ, which is a WWE licensee and publisher of games like Smackdown and Raw, could find its games removed from shelves in the UK if English courts uphold the damage claim. The WWE said it is considering how to respond.
