Winners Announced in 2010 Gotland Game Awards

The winning entries have been revealed in the 2010 Gotland Game Awards, a contest highlighting interactive projects created by university students enrolled in the fields of game design and computer graphics in Sweden.
The winning entries have been revealed in the 2010 Gotland Game Awards, a contest highlighting interactive projects created by university students enrolled in the fields of game design and computer graphics. This year's awards expo, held on June 7th and 8th at the University of Gotland in Sweden, allowed students to show off their creations to an attending crowd of game developers and 3D movie animators. Representatives from Avalanche, Microsoft, Starbreeze, Lionhead, Crytech were in attendance at the event. Gotland's "Pwnage Award" went to Dwarfs, an arcade-styled strategy title developed by Power of Two for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms. Power of Two's members earned a trip to GCDC in Cologne, to be held in August. Square Eyed Vision's multiplayer RTS Abzolium took home the prize in the "Best XNA Game" category. Meow Entertainment's Fumbies: The Cloud Creatures earned top honors in "Best Game: Graduating Class," while TrashTalk's Gods of Steel won the "Best Arcade Game: First Year" award. Northern Gate's Pawns championed the UNICEF-sponsored "Award for Human Rights" category, and Zamarkand Interactive's co-op platformer Colorless was recognized as "Best Serious Game." Winners in the expo's CG animation categories include Kim Bourdette, Christian Antero Kahkonen, Rosanna Gunnarson, Hakon Lundvall, and Emil Kieri.
