WILL Interactive Reveals Hospital Training Game

Virtual experience behavior modification gaming provider WILL Interactive has announced a partnership with Washington Hospital Center to create Anatomy of Care, a web based training program addressing the need for customer care for hospital staff.
Virtual experience behavior modification gaming provider, WILL Interactive, has announced a partnership with Washington Hospital Center, the largest hospital in the District of Columbia, to create a web based training program called Anatomy of Care to address the need for customer care for hospital staff. Anatomy of Care is designed to educate hospital staff at all levels of service on how their actions affect patient care and the overall image of a hospital. The tool is also designed to improve the way health care workers respond to difficult situations that confront them in their job. The serious game was built using WILL Interactive's patented VEILS (Virtual Experience Immersive Learning Simulations) technology, which the company notes has been proven effective in changing behavior and enhancing positive decision-making. In the game, players choose one of five characters to play as, including a doctor, nurse, clerical worker, patient transporter, or environmental service worker, at a fictional metropolitan hospital. A cross between a video game and a feature film, the VEILS technology enables users to role-play these characters in live-action, research-based interactive movies that depict real-life decisions and consequences in the safety of cyberspace. The goal is to enhance the user's decision-making skills by creating realistic, stressful situations where the user must make decisions in a slice of life context. The experiential learning provided by WILL Interactive's programs teaches users how to think rather than what to think. "Anatomy of Care is a proactive and effective tool to help today's hospitals enhance customer care, the ambiance of caring that is the foundation for patients and their families at a time of need," said Sharon Sloane, CEO of WILL Interactive. "WILL is pleased to have created this simulation training in partnership with Washington Hospital Center."
