Nintendo has announced that this week's regular Wii Shop update has added three new classic games to the channel's offerings for Virtual Console. The most notable title among this week's releases is Bubble Bobble, the 1986 NES title whose bubble-blowing dragons, Bub and Bob, have become part of gaming's classic iconography. Bubble Bobble's puzzle gameplay requires trapping enemies in bubbles and then popping them, over 100 rounds featuring pattern recognition gameplay and a variety of level secrets. Also joining the Virtual Console lineup this week is the Sega Genesis title Light Crusader,an RPG that features puzzles alongside action gameplay. Light Crusader features the knight Sir David investigating the mysterious disappearance of Green Row's townspeople. Finally, sidescrolling action Neo Geo title Top Hunter has been released, in which bounty hunters Roddy and Cathy take on space pirates. Both characters have retractable arms used to grab enemies or other objects in the scenery that can then be thrown at others to destroy them.
