Along with its weekly Wii Shop Channel updates, Nintendo has announced a new Gifting feature, which will let Wii users send games to other Wii owners with whom they've traded Friend Codes.
If the gift recipient already owns the game, the gift-giver receives a simple message and can continue shopping in the catalog, to avoid duplicate gifting.
The latest Virtual Console offering includes Nintendo 64 title
Pokémon Snap, which has added a special feature that allows players to post pictures they take in the game to their Wii Message Board and send them to friends with whom they've traded Friends Codes.
Pokémon Snap is priced at 1,000 Wii Points
The arcade title
Ghosts n' Goblins, which appeared on NES in 1986, has also been released on the Virtual Console. Players guide Arthur on a quest to rescue a kidnapped princess from the realm of demons and monsters, choosing different weapons and techniques along the way.
Ghosts n' Goblins is priced at 500 Wii Points.
Finally, the Neo Geo title
Baseball Stars 2 has been made available for download, which features six teams and both a 15-game player-versus-computer tournament and two-player competition modes.
Baseball Stars 2 is priced at 900 Wii Points.
