Waves announced two new application bundles for professional audio mastering, the Master bundle and the Platinum bundle.
The Master bundle include Waves' Linear Phase Equalizer which removes phase distortions created by previous software and hardware, and Waves' Linear Phase Multiband which supports independent gain and dynamics (compression, EQ, and limiting) on five user defined frequency ranges, while adding linear phase crossovers.
The Master bundle will be available from Waves dealers in February 2002, and is available in Native and TDM versions. The Native version supports RTAS, AudioSuite, VST, MAS and DirectX formats on Macintosh and Windows PC platforms. The Native version includes hand-coded optimization for Motorola’s Altivec, Intel’s Pentium3/4 and AMD’s Athlon processors to improve processor efficiency. The TDM version adds support for Digidesign’s ProTools and new ProTools|HD systems on the Macintosh. The MSRP for Masters TDM is $1,800 and $900 for Masters Native.
The new Platinum bundle contains 25 audio processing tools, includeing all the processors in Waves Gold bundle, three new processors available from the Masters bundle, plus a vocal processor, a version of the MaxxBass psycho-acoustic bass extension algorithm, and a de-esser with adaptive threshold for smoother, more natural de-essing. No pricing information was given for the Platinum bundle.
