Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has signed a deal with nonprofit Sesame Street creator Sesame Workshop to develop and distribute games based on the long-running children's television show.
The agreement comes only months after the publisher's parent company, Warner Bros. Entertainment, acquired the retail and digital distribution rights to the Sesame Street show, which is currently in its 40th consecutive season of broadcast.
"Our worldwide partnership with Sesame Workshop marks an exciting step toward the future of preschool console games, mixing education and fun with the incredible Sesame Street brand," said Warner Bros. Both deals are said to be "multi-year" agreements, but the companies did not give further time frames, and specific game platforms were not identified.
